Solice in the break (M)

This painting was born from one of those quiet, soul-settling moments on the shoreline, watching a lone surfer catching the last light as the day folds into dusk. I wanted to capture not just the movement of the sea, but that feeling of standing still in it all: the hush, the horizon, the golden haze softening the edges of everything.

Using oil on canvas, I’ve built depth with gentle layering and flowing brushwork to mirror the curve of the incoming tide. Subtle textures reflect the foam lines and sand patterns that are forever being shaped and reshaped. This piece holds space for stillness and solitude, the kind that only the ocean can bring.

For me, it’s a celebration of connection: between water and sky, movement and pause, land and longing.
