Let me introduce you to my piece, "Chromatic." This artwork holds a special place in my heart because it captures the beauty of nature as I experience it from the deck of a sailing boat, with the vast, calming shades of blue stretching from the sky to the sea. The way the horizon dissolves into the water, and how light dances on the waves, always captivates me. I wanted to reflect that serenity and boundless feeling in this piece—a moment where the sea and sky unite.

I used watercolour inks on 300gsm watercolor paper for this artwork because of how beautifully they interact, creating rich, fluid colors that reflect the depth of the ocean and sky. The combination of watercolour inks allowed me to achieve a luminous effect, where the hues blend and flow naturally, capturing the dynamic yet calming nature of the sea. I also kept the raw edges of the paper visible, which adds an element of authenticity and highlights the organic nature of the materials I work with.

I’ve framed "Chromatic" in a 3D white wooden frame with a perspex screen to enhance its presentation while protecting the work. The framing complements the painting’s simplicity and tranquility, while the perspex keeps the vibrant colors of the watercolour inks preserved.
