"Ebb Putsborough" captures the powerfully dark sky as rain clouds and a storm approach the beach, because nothing says “perfect beach day” like the impending doom of a tempest. The purple hues reflecting off the sea transform what is typically a paradisiacal scene on a calm day into a reminder that Mother Nature has mood swings too.
As the artist, I aimed to convey this dramatic transformation through a mixed media abstract painting. Yes, I used flow techniques and layered various media to create depth and energy, because why use just one technique when you can use a buffet? I even threw in some real seashells and driftwood for that authentic “I raided the beach” look.
The artwork is presented on cotton rag paper with raw edges exposed, because who needs clean lines when you’re capturing chaos? Encased in a 3D shadow frame, this piece gets the VIP treatment, allowing the textures and elements to stand out like they’re on the red carpet. This presentation not only protects the artwork but also makes sure it has more space than your average studio apartment, offering viewers a deeper connection to the powerful and ever-changing nature of coastal landscapes—or at least something interesting to look at.
Signed by the artist (yours truly), this abstract art piece would look amazing against a white or Hague Blue wall, because why settle for subtle when you can make a statement? Bring a little piece of Devon holidays home to your walls, minus the sand in your shoes and seagulls stealing your lunch.
